Food security and natural resource management-Every year it becomes clearer that climate change is happening at a rapid pace and that it will have a profound impact on agriculture and management of natural resources. Without appropriate responses, climate change is likely to constrain economic development and poverty reduction efforts.

Step 1: Application and admission

Please register for a course of your interest on the website by clicking the 'Apply here' button.

Log in with your username and password, or if you do not have an account at CDI yet,

Create an new account

Follow the instructions and fill in all the required fields.

After you have completed the application form, you will receive a confirmation email with the registration details.

If applicable, CDI will send you the NFP/MENA/StuNed admission letter as soon as possible.
Step 2: Funding for your participation

There are several options to fund your participation in our short course.

Fellowship
Self paying participant

Fellowship:

There are quite a few possibilities for fellowships. Most course particiants apply for an NFP fellowship.

Other populair fellowship programmes are MENA, StuNed and ITTO.

Please note that a fellowship is a compensation in the costs for participation:

The allowance is a contribution towards the costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research. If applicable, the fellowship holder is expected to cover the difference between the actual costs and the amount of the personal NFP allowances.

The fellowships are awarded in a very competitive selection to highly motivated professionals who are in a position to introduce the newly-acquired skills and knowledge into their employing organisation.

More information about these fellowship programmes can be found in the brochures on the right. After registration for the short course, eligible candidates will receive an admission letter with instruction on how to apply for a fellowship.

NFP application instructions in short


After your have registered for the course of your interest, we will review your application and send you the NFP / MSP admission letter. You can only submit your NFP / MSP application through the online form once. It is not possible to edit your application once it has been submitted.

We therefore advise you to prepare all documents mentioned above very well before you start with the online NFP / MSP application. We also advise you to make a print of the form before you submit it.

Before you start your NFP / MSP application, please prepare the following documents in advance:

Motivation: (answering the following questions, stated by Nuffic)

What is the issue or problem you want to address in your country?
How will this course enable you to address this issue?
How will you address this issue with your position within your organization?

- Copy of valid passport (in PDF format)

- Employer statement (in PDF format), according to this format.

Self paying participant:


If you already have funding to finance your participation in the short course, please mention the name of your sponsor on your application and send a confirmation of the sponsoring organisation to training.cdi@wur.nl

After the course leader has reviewed your application, you will receive an invitation letter with payment details and an invoice (if required). Application for courses is possible up to 6 weeks prior to the start of the course. The application deadlines for each specific course is given on the course website.
Step 3: Preparation for the course

After you have been admitted to the course and the payment or scholarship has been confirmed, there are a few practical matter that need attention:

VISA


Nationals from certain countries need a VISA to enter the country where the course will be held. You will be informed about the procedures by our staff. More information about VISA and application procedures can be found on the website of the Netherlands Embassy

Housing and Insurance


CDI will arrange accommodation for all course participants during the course. For courses held in Wageningen, participants will be accommodated in hotel Het Hof van Wageningen on basis of full board and lodging. For NFP, MENA, StuNed or ITTO participants, the costs for accommodation will be covered by the fellowship. For courses held abroad, accommodation will depend on local prices etc.

CDI will also arrange a health insurance for participants during the course. The costs for health insurance are covered by the fellowship.

For self paying participants, the costs for health insurance and accommodation will be invoiced.

Travel

For participants with and NFP, MENA, StuNed or ITTO scholarship, CDI will book the flight tickets. The costs for international travel will be covered by the scholarship.

Self paying participants are expected to arrange their own flight and are expected to arrive at least 1 day before the start of the course.
