How to Make Fake Blood for Halloween
Seven Fake Blood Recipes
If you don’t want to use real stuff of blood, then you can make your own fake blood. It’s very easy but the consistency and color of fake blood can vary on different kind of recipe you will use.
I will share you eight different recipes to make fake blood for clothing, dripping and generally grossing out your family and friends.
- Spray Bottle Blood – This recipe is water-based and it is good for spraying clothes.
- Dark thin Blood – This recipe is lightweight and good for smearing on walls or cloths.
- Thick Realistic Blood – This is dark shade fake blood by using the cocoa.
- Gross Blood – with flakes on skin and scabs inside.
- Fake Flesh – Using kitchen ingredients you make chunk of flesh.
- Dripping Blood – This recipe is reddish brown and good for dripping down the walls.
- Scabs – in this recipe you make clump of bumpy brownish scabs.
1. Bright Red Spray Bottle Blood Recipe
This is water based and easiest recipe of fake blood. Easily store in spray bottle and spraying down a zombie costume or you can use it on walls of haunted house. Don’t apply it anything you want to be cleaned later.
Ingredients,
- Water – ¼ Cup
- Red Food Color – 4 Drops
Instruction,
- Gently mix 4 drops of red food color into the ¼ cup of water.
- Now fill it in spray bottle, your fake blood is ready.
2. Dark Thin Blood Recipe
This fake blood has a thin consistency, you easily sprayed it and it look like old blood on costumes.
Ingredients,
- Water – 1/4th Cup
- Red Food Color – 8 Drops
- Corn Syrup – 4 tablespoons
- Yellow Food Color – 2 Drops
- Green Food Color – 1 Drop
Instructions,
- Take a 1/4th cup of water and mix 8 drops of red food color, 2 drops of yellow food color, 1 drop of green food color and 4 tbsp. of corn syrup and mix them well.
- Now, Dip a paintbrush in this mixture and tap the paintbrush over the area that you want to apply spray of blood.
3. Thick Realistic Fake Blood Recipe
This recipe of fake blood is very similar look as a real blood, so we can say it realistic fake blood recipe. This fake blood is sticky and thick by using of corn syrup.
Ingredients,
- Corn Syrup – 2 tablespoons
- Red Food Color – 4 Drops
- Cocoa Mix – 1 teaspoon
Instructions,
- Mix together 2 tbsp. of corn syrup, 4 drops of red food color and 1 tsp. of cocoa mix.
- Your Realistic fake blood is ready.
4. Gross Gore Blood Recipe
This fake blood recipe have includes onion flakes to give it additional scab and rubbish effect.
Ingredients,
- Corn Syrup – 2 tablespoons
- Dried Onion Flakes – ½ teaspoon (You can add more onion flakes to make it clumpy)
- Water – ¼ teaspoon
- Red Food Color – 6 Drops
- Cocoa Mix – 1 teaspoon
Instructions,
- Combine the 2 tbsp. of corn syrup, ½ tsp. of dried onion flakes, ¼ tsp. of water, 6 drops of red food color and 1 tsp. of cocoa mix. Now gently mix them to make gross fake blood.
5. How to Make Fake Flesh
In this recipe I will show you how to make rubbery flesh by using the corn starch. You just follow the instructions to get a good consistency.
Ingredients,
- Corn Starch – 2 tablespoons
- Water – 4 teaspoons
- Red Food Color – 3 Drops
- Cocoa Mix – ¼ teaspoon
Instructions,
- Add 2 tbsp. of corn starch into the bowl and then add 2 tsp of water and mix them. Then add 2 drops of red food color.
- Now, mix 2 more tsp. of water and add another drop of red food color.
- Mix it again and add ¼ tsp. of water and mix it until you have good rubbery texture.
- At last, add ¼ tsp. of cocoa in it. And mix it like a blend.
- Your fake flesh is ready.
6. Thick Dripping Blood Recipe
When you want to dripping fake blood on walls or drips down on your face, then thick blood is more suitable. Here is the thick dripping blood recipe to make a slow-flow or gore.
Ingredients,
- Corn Syrup – 2 tablespoons
- Red Food Color – 2 Drops
- Cocoa Mix – ¼ teaspoon
Instructions,
- Take 2 tbsp. of corn syrup, 2 drops of red food color and ¼ tsp. of cocoa mix and mix them gently to make a thick dripping fake blood.
7. How to Make Fake Scabs
In this recipe, I will show you how to make fake scabs.
Ingredients,
- Corn Starch – ½ tablespoon
- Water – 1 teaspoon
- Corn Syrup – ¼ teaspoon
- Onion Flakes – ¾ teaspoon
- Red Food Color – 1 Drop
- Yellow Food Color – 1 Drop
Instructions,
- Take ½ tbsp. of corn starch, 1 tsp. of water, ¼ tsp. of corn syrup, ¾ tsp. of onion flakes, 1 drop of red food color and 1 drop of yellow food color and mix them gently to make a paste.
- Clump the paste on your skin, but beware that when you removed the scab, the red food color will leave the light stain.
- When scab dries it will look more darker and clumps will become more prominent.
